In the hall of the Carré d’Art, from June 14 to July 6, the city of Montgeron dedicates a vast retrospective to the textile artist Brigitte Amarger, for the launch of its exhibition program 2020-2021 on the thematic of the artist woman.
For several years, from a very particular material, the medical imagery, Brigitte Amarger creates monumental works that marry and underline the architectural space.
Graduated from the Applied Arts and Fine Arts Schools, she first worked on contemporary tapestry and textile before setting her sights on medical imaging. The artist combines in a single work, different materials and techniques to create games of lights, transparencies, colors and volumes.
This oversized, awesome , poetic and marvelous world immediately catches the eye. It is an immersion in the heart of plant, animal and human nature, reinvented by an artist with great creativity. The visitor strolls between flowerbeds, hanging gardens, and can take the time to observe a cabinet of curiosity and a natural history laboratory.
